Hello and welcome to ABFABB
A Brighter Future Altogether, Benefiting Bridgend or ABFABB for short is a community based engagement project dedicated to supporting Bridgend’s LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender +) community, providing a vehicle for their voices and concerns across the whole spectrum of local services. The project currently facilitates persons aged 16 and over who live within the borough of Bridgend.
The main focus of the project is work towards 3 core objectives. They are:
- To empower Bridgend’s LGBT+ community to have their voices heard in a meaningful manner.
- To enable Bridgend’s LGBT+ community to influence local service provision through essential skills training & peer based workshops.
- To provide Bridgend’s LGBT+ community with the opportunity to engage with local forums & groups to share experiences & gain peer support.

As well as community engagement, ABFABB also provide a number of dynamic and thought provoking training packages & courses which draws on our experience of empowering LGBT people in the Bridgend borough. Provided free of charge, our courses primarily cater towards services providers, schools and service user, but each of the courses can be tailored to fit any specific needs or requirements that you may have.
We deliver training that will help you connect with LGBT+ service users and deliver an LGBT+ inclusive working environment.
We deliver awareness training packages for staff and support workers and can deliver short talk to assemblies, workshops and specific classes.
We provide training in confidence building and communication skills so you can engage effectively with the services that you need and contribute to community life.

Although you can access our office through the main entrance of The Bridge MPS, it is easier to use the river side entrance using the bridge that runs opposite Bridgend council. Here’s how you can get to us using the river side entrance.

Standard office hours
Our normal office hours are from Monday to Thursday 9.30 to 3.30pm, a member of staff will usually be on hand in the office during these times. However, if you would like to make an appointment to see a member of staff on a Friday please let us know and we will do out best to accommodate you. Peer support group
Peer group meetings are held twice a month, usually the second and last Thursday of every month from 5pm until 7pm. Details of peer group meetings are advertised on our Facebook & Twitter pages and are now also detailed on our site events page.
