Bridgend LGBT+ Peer Group Meetings
ABFABB run peer group meetings throughout the year enabling Bridgend’s LGBT+ community to meet-up, socialise, get to know other LGBT+ community members and discuss all the things that are important to them.
Open to anyone aged 16 or over, meetings are held in a safe, welcoming & friendly environment and are peer led, guided by ABFABB staffers and our mutually agreed code of conduct (please see our Code of Conduct section detailed at the bottom of this page). As well as getting to know and socialise with other LGBT+ community members, the meetings are a great opportunity for service users to discuss and share individual experiences, likes & dislikes about the community & its service provision and how we can affect the changes that we want within our community.
Held on the dates detailed below (see the Meeting Dates section further down this page), our LGBT+ peer groups run along the lines of part ‘social’ and part ‘engagement’. The social aspect of the meetings are an opportunity for members of Bridgend’s LGBT+ community to meet up, get to know one another and talk about any topic(s) you want (within reason of course!) under the guidance of ABFABB staffers. The engagement part is when, as a group, we’ll get down to the nitty gritty of matters that most effect our community and provides a very reel opportunity for group members to impact on the changes we collectively want to see.
If you’ve never been to a peer group meeting before and want to know more information about them, please give us a call on 01656 647 601 and we’ll be more than happy to help & assist you. If you are interested in attending our peer group sessions and don’t know how to get to us, please scroll down this page a little more for information on how to get to us.
